Nick Richards
Nick Richards paints in oils directly from life. He has shown with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters several times, as well as with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters & The Discerning Eye exhibitions at Mall Galleries. He has also appeared on Portrait Artist of the Year on Sky Arts. In his plein air work he seeks to capture a sense of place, along with the idea that we can find magic in the mundane. His practice questions whether an ordinary street we have walked down a thousand times is as worthy a subject for a painting as a beautiful rural landscape.
