Asia Nowicki

Bio
Asia Nowicki is a South East London born Brighton based sculptor, and a Camberwell College of Arts and The Cass graduate. Her practice spans the UK and internationally, with exhibitions in London, Brighton, Paris, Zagreb, New York and beyond. She has presented a solo exhibition at Nunnery Gallery / Bow Arts and participated in multiple group shows including The Old Waiting Room, The Crypt and Phoenix Art Space. She is also co-founder of Brighton Women Artists and works as a curator supporting experimental, interdisciplinary projects.
Rooted in neurodiverse perception, her mixed media sculpture explores gender psychology, fragmented embodiment and obscured femininity. She foregrounds material relationships- push, pull and symbolic charge- combining traditional processes with DIY and industrial elements to create forms that oscillate between attraction and unease. Humour and wordplay create space for agency, connection and transformation. Recent work isolates body parts and extensions, exploring autonomy, mythic associations and the shifting boundaries between body and symbol.
