JBB Denis

JBB Denis (Jeremy Bolton-Denis) is a visual artist specializing in observational painting and atelier techniques. His practice—spanning drawing, collage, and ceramics—explores themes of self-transformation, spiritual practice, and rebellion.
Born in Northern Virginia and raised in an unconventional, matriarchal household with deep roots in the American South, his work navigates the contradictions of his ancestry. He draws inspiration from early American folk art, Van Eyck’s compositions, and the flamboyance of the Vienna Secession.
A 2024 BFA graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Bolton-Denis is a recipient of the DaVinci and Creative Vision Awards, as well as the Certificate of Congressional Recognition in visual art.
