Victoria Watts

Victoria Watts is a London-based visual artist whose work explores themes of vulnerability, introspection and feminism rooted in her personal experiences. Watts’ practice ventures across oil painting, watercolour, embroidery and clay, choosing to celebrate the inherent femininity and tactility of these materials.

Her work is characterised by earthy and fleshy tones and expressive textures intended to echo the rawness of her subject matter. Often featuring deliberately manipulated, deformed and exaggerated female forms, Watts uses the body as a conduit for communication, a bridge between the internal and the external, between herself and the observer.

At its heart her work is intended to provoke inward attention that opens up a communal space for reflection, solidarity and connection.

Watts graduated from London Metropolitan University with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2023.
